At present, the Government and the Tatmadaw provide necessary assistance to us for meeting our food, clothing and shelter needs

I am column commander Sai Yone of SSA-S brigade-758 which returned to the legal fold together with brigade commander Mein Sin. It took three years for us to manage to return to the legal fold. Due to hindrances made by Ywet Sit, we are able to return to the legal fold only now.

In returning to the legal fold, we encountered many difficulties. Ywet Sit ordered us to commit drug trafficking and kill against Bamars. But we refused to do so as narcotic drugs pose danger to entire mankind. Moreover, the killing of innocent people is out of narrow-minded racism.

I was recruited in MTA in the year 1992. However, I abhorred and was frustrated with collection of extortion money, mobilizing new recruits, committing killings and drug trafficking. When MTA group returned to the legal fold, I was left as I was not aware of it. Now I return to the legal fold in collaboration with Mein Sin. After returning to the legal fold, I am now feeling very peaceful. It is like I am having a full moon shining in my heart. Now I am very heartening because I can live together with my family; now I can give attention to my children's education and health; and I can join hands with the Government in carrying out regional development works.

At present, the Government and the Tatmadaw provide necessary assistance to us for meeting our food, clothing and shelter needs. Agricultural and livestock breeding works are also being planned for our long-term interests. Thus, I am very happy.

In conclusion, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for being welcomed very warmly by the Government, the Tatmadaw and the people. In reciprocation, I pledge to participate in national security, nation-building and regional development activities enthusiastically with the Government, the Tatmadaw and the people.
