Copyright system for promotion of Publishing Industry discussed

YANGON, 1 Sept- A WIPO National Seminar on the Role of the Copyright System in Promoting the Publishing Industry jointly organized by Myanmar Writers and Journalists Association and World Intellectual Property Organization was opened at Park Royal Hotel on Alanpya Phaya Road this morning.

On behalf of the Minister for Information, Director-General of Information and Public Relations Department U Chit Naing extended greetings.

Next, Chairman of MWJA U Hla Myaing (Ko Hsaung) and Director of WIPO Mr Jorgen Blomgvist also spoke on the occasion.

Member of Central Executive Committee of MWJA U Myo Thant (Maung Hsu Shin) explained the objective of the seminar.

Local and foreign resource persons submitted their papers and they replied to queries raised by the participants.

The seminar continues till 3 September.
