| Union Minister for Information and for Culture attends 6th prize awarding to outstanding students of MWJA members YANGON, 30 Oct-Union Minister for Information and for Culture U Kyaw Hsan this morning attended the sixth prize presentation to outstanding offspring of the MWJA members organized by Myanmar Writers and Journalists Association at Sarpay Beikman Building in Kyauktada Township. Chairman of the association U Tin Hlaing (Ledwintha Saw Chit) extended greetings. Chairman of the 6th Prize Presentation Work Committee of MWJA Daw Cho Cho Tin (Ma Sanda) reported on the purpose of holding the ceremony. Union Minister U Kyaw Hsan awarded six-distinction winner Ma Shoon Le Oo, fivedistinction winner Ma Ei Myat Thwe, four-distinction winners Ma The Su Su Win, Ma Thazin Ko Ko Aung and Ma Yadana Su Aung in the matriculation examination of 2010-2011 academic year. Chairman U Tin Hlaing (Ledwintha Saw Chit), Vice- Chairman (1) U Khin Maung Tun (Khin Maung Tun- Lanmadaw) and Vice-Chairman- 3 U Ko Ko Hlaing awarded four-distinction winners. Next, Union Minister U Kyaw Hsan and wife Daw Kyi Kyi Win donated K 100,000 to the fund for awarding outstanding students, MWJA K 1.5 million, U Maung Maung Aye (poet Maung Hay Mar) K 1 million, Daw Nan Kalyar Win (Ngwe Thawda) K 500,000, Daw Nan Ei Ei Zar K 200,000, U Maung Myo (Maung Myo- Kyaunghnakaung) K 500,000, Dr Tha Tun Oo K 300,000, Dr Tin Aung Khaing K 200,000, U Myo Aung K 100,000, U Ko Ko (Ko Ko-Sethmu Tekkatho)- Daw Tin May Htay and family K 200,000, Sayawun Tin Shwe family K 300,000, U Myo Tun (Maung Sein Naung-Lewe) K 50,000, U Zeya Thu K 50,000, Snapshot news journal and Sayama Thiri San K 200,000, and Press Scrutiny and Registration Division K 50,000. The secretary and officials of MWJA accepted donations and presented certificates of honour to them. U Maung Myo (Maung Myo-Two Cats Publishing House donated 55555 books worth K 77,777,000 to Myanmar Libraries Foundation through Chairman U Maung Maung. On behalf of the prize winning students, six-distinction winner Ma Shoon Le Oo spoke words of thanks. After the ceremony, the Union Minister posed for documentary photo with the chairman, central executive committee members and prize winners. |
