New bus routes launched

By Yan Naing Hein

BANDOOLA Transportation launched two new bus lines in Yangon last week, said an official from the company’s Urban Transport section.

The first bus line runs between the town of Indine, north of Yangon and Thakhinmya Park in Ahlone township, a distance of 62 kilometres (38 miles), while the second travels between Aungmingalar Highway Bus Terminal and Dagon Seikkan township about 50km away.

The fare to ride the length of the Indine-Thakhinmya line is K200, divided into three sections with fares of K40 each and one with a K50 fare. The Aungmingalar-Dagon Seikkan route costs K160, divided into four sections with fares of K40 each.

The official said a total of 20 buses will service the two routes, with more to be added later if necessary.

Bandoola Transportation operates 300 buses on 13 lines in Yangon, as well as 33 university shuttles.
