The World Food Programme (WFP) Myanmar is seeking
for the above posts under the overall supervision of the Country
Director, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
(1) Procurement Assistant
• To ensure the procurement process according
to the WFP rules and regulations;
• To arrange for on day-to-day procurement matters; participate
in discussions of new or revised procedures and practices, interpret
and assess the impact of changes; request quotes issuance of
tender by phone or formal tenders; evaluate bids and prepare
recommendations for approval;
• To issue clearing instructions to official WFP clearing
agent; prepare backup data regarding allocation, budget code,
etc. of procured items;
(2) Programme Assistant
• To maintain records on programme activities,
from formulation stage through completion, by extracting relevant
information from reports, project committees, budget records
and other documentations; ensure project cycle deadlines are
met;
• To carry out advocacy and information related tasks
for the programme activities and to prepare status and progress
reports by providing information and background for use in discussions
and briefing sessions;
• To assess food for work activities and provide technical
input to the partners and to liaise with partners & government
officials in the promotion of WFP activities;
(3) Sr. Staff Assistant
• To prepare briefing materials for supervisor
for use on official trips or special meetings and to assist
in preparation of mission visits such as visa, security clearance,
mission schedules, and meeting arrangements;
• To be responsible for the registration of office documents
with Electronic Registry Management Programme;
• To co-ordinate the secretarial services of the office,
assign priorities, monitor work in progress and control deadlines;
assess work performance and resolve problems;
Qualification: The incumbent must have a minimum
of a bachelor’s degree. Very good command of spoken and
written English is compulsory. For the Programme Assistant Post,
ability to communicate in Chinese is preferable. Knowledge of
MS Office (Excel, Word, Access and Power Point) is necessary-
The eligible candidate should possess at least 3 years progressively
experience in related field, preferably in UN organizations
and sould have INGOs and very good interpersonal and communication
skills.
