Zaw Paing releases long-awaited solo album

FOLLOWING a two year sabbatical Iron Cross vocalist Zaw Paing is due to release his fourth solo album on August 5.

“I have been preparing this album for nearly two years,” he told the Myanmar Times.

“Like my previous albums, the genre is soft rock, pop and country.”

All the recording and mixing for the album was done at PTL Studio, which is owned by Iron Cross lead guitarist Chit San Maung.

Well-known songwriters including Shwe Gyaw Gyaw, Maung Maung Zaw Latt, Zawar, Phoe Kar, Nge Sue Thit and Myint Moe Aung contributed lyrics.

“Most of the songs are about love - the one thing no one can escape. But there are also some unusual songs about life and philosophy. I hope it will be worth the wait for my fans,” Zaw Paing said.

Titled Amaw Pyaw (Relief of tiredness), the album features 14 songs - including a bonus track; an original song by a foreign rock band.

A VCD of the album is also planned.

Zaw Paing, 29, gained fame with his debut solo album Chit Thu Ye Amaint (Lover’s Order) released in 2000.
