were launched. |
TWO websites aimed at contributing to the development of the
ICT sector were launched on January 21 to mark the start of the
fourth Myanmar ICT Week Exhibition.
Myanmar’s first online job placement website, www.asianjobbus.com,
was designed to make the task of looking for a job faster and
more efficient, said U Zaw Thet Pe, the team leader of the Asiajobbus
Company.
“The website provides great opportunities for Myanmar
job seekers because local and overseas companies can post vacancies,”
he said.
Prospective employees can search for vacancies that have been
posted on the website after they submit their curriculum vitae
online, U Zaw Thet Pe said.
The website will also benefit employers, who can post job vacancies
or search the curriculum vitae for prospective employees who meet
their requirements, he said.
The portal can be accessed free by job seekers who have their
own email accounts where employers can contact them.
Companies looking for employees can post up to 30 jobs and contact
up to 30 listed candidates free of charge.
The company also plans to establish service centres where those
who lack knowledge of the internet or do not have email accounts
can pay a small fee and receive help in accessing the website,
U Zaw Thet Pe said.
“After four or five months we will make the website more
efficient by modifying it based on feedback from clients,”
he said.
By that time the service centres will be established and their
fees will be defined, he said.
The second website, www.myanmarcomputer market.com, is the first
in Myanmar to provide a broad guide to the country’s ICT
sector.
Available in Myanmar and English, it features information and
listings of events relevant to the ICT sector, an online computer
accessories market and a list of the member companies of the Myanmar
Computer Industry Association and their services.
“About 20 member companies have shown interest in the
website, 16 of which have been listed so far,” said U Ye
Tun Win, the managing director of the Nawarat Computer Co., Ltd.,
which established the website.
“We are also trying to get additional listings from training
centres for our service page so we can list the ICT courses available
in Myanmar,” U Ye Tun Win said.
