BEING the centre of attention has its drawbacks and many celebrities
complain the spot light is great when you want it, but unrelenting
when you do not.
When your fans and the press are interested in what you wear,
who you see and what you do, it can be hard to find a moment of
peace, let alone time to spend on your own or with family and
friends.
Yar Zar Ne Win said being a celebrity can occasionally get frustrating.
“Being famous means I get to go to important places and
I rarely have to show my NRC card to anyone,” he said.
“But I also fail to see my friends a lot of the time and
when they invite me out I have to say no.”
Tin Zar Maw said she had the same problem but said her friends
and family supported her.
“I cannot fulfil my family and social obligations but
[my family and friends] love me and understand how busy my schedule
is,” Tin Zar Maw said.
Tun Tun of Examplez said while he was delighted that people
knew him and enjoyed his music, fame did have some drawbacks.
“I used to hang around in the playground playing football
or going to tuition on the bus, by everyone knows me now and I
can’t just walk down the street,” he said.
Tun Tun was also aware that every time he stepped out of the
house his fashion sense was being scrutinised.
“When people had seen me wearing shorts or dressed untidily,
I have heard them make comments,” he said.
I have to be careful of what I wear because I don’t want
my fans to lose interest.”
But Tun Tun said he appreciated his fans’ interest and
it did not bother him too much.
While he wished he could still go out and play football, he
also enjoyed the attention.
“I am an open and laid-back person so I do not let it
get to me,” he said.
Tin Zar Maw said she sometimes wished she could do whatever
she liked but she had to be careful in case her fans disapproved.
“I miss the days when I could go where I wanted and eat
as much as I liked,” she said.
But Yar Zar Ne Win said he was not bothered by fame.
“I can still go where ever I like, but I try not to do
improper things,” he said.
Yar Zar said he sometimes avoided certain places but he never
wished to have back the life he knew before his acting career.
Actress Su Pan Htwar said while she felt her fans’ attention
was a blessing she sometimes wished she could move about freely.
Su Pan Htwar said if she was not an actress she would like to
study something and Tin Zar Maw said she would like to be a teacher
or an executive.
Yar Zar said if he was not an actor he would live abroad and
Tun Tun said he had always fancied becoming an engineer.
