MYANMA CERAMIC INDUSTRIES ( MCI )

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Myanma Ceramic Industries (MCI) is one of the six state owned Myanmar Industries under the Ministry of Industry (1) engaged in the production of cement, bricks, concrete products, asbestos cement roofing and ceiling sheets, marble, sheet glass, bottles and ceramic products.

It was previsously named as Ceramic Industries Corporation. In 1989, the name of the corporation was changed to Myanma Ceramic Industries to be in line with New Market Oriented System adopted in the country in late 1988.

ORGANIZATION
Factories under Myanma Ceramic Industries consist of two Cement Factories, three Brick Factories, Refractory Brick, Asbestos Cement Plant, Concrete Products, two Ceramic Factories, Marble Factory and Sheet Glass Factory.

RANGE OF PRODUCT

MCI is producing the following range of commodities:-

Cement and Cement Products;-
- Portland Cement, Asbestos Cement, Roofing and Ceiling sheets, concrete products.

Ceramic Wares:-
- Ceramic table wares, sanitary wares, ceramic wall tile and floor tile, insulators.

Marble Products:-
- Variety of coloured marble slabs, marble blocks marble sculptures.

Glass and Glass Products:-
- Various kinds of bottle, house-hold glass-wares and sheet glass.

POTENTIALS

-            Establishment of a new cement factory on JV basis.
-           Rehabilitation, renovation of existing factories in the area of cement, marble, bottle glass, sheet glass, ceramic wares, asbestos cement roofing and ceiling sheets.
-           Mutual co-operation in the field of production asbestos cement roofing and ceiling sheet and concrete products.
